Remember To Pray

I hear You call
For watchmen on the wall.
You ask me to pray
Each and every day.
Should I stop all I do
And only seek You?

No, you ask me to honor you through my vocation
And not take a permanent vacation.

While you wash these dishes
Tell me your wishes.
While you mop this floor
Tell me what you hope for.

While you walk the hall
Hear me as I call.
While you cook
Take another look
At all your many blessings.

Pray for those around the world
Suffering from starvation and malnutrition.
While you clean
Pray that My glory would be seen
Among those who have never heard my name.

Where I want you is the same
Just call out my name
Find me in the quiet moments of your day
Listen to what I want to say.

My promise is still true
I will be with you.
Even near your office chair
Yes I am everywhere.

My Psalm to Jesus

All of this waiting,
It's been all for you.
I've been angry and hating
Instead of honoring you in all I do.

You don't care about how much money I make.
You don't care about titles or positions.
The essence of who I am
That is what you wish to take.

So I give you my thoughts, my dreams, my plans,
I put them in your hands.
I say "Father I'll follow and you lead"

You may rip my plans in two,
But I'll still trust you.
You are the stronghold of my life.
I'm letting go of all the strife.

I lay my burdens at your feet.
I look up and our eyes meet.
You are all that I am after
You are all that I seek.

I am far to weak
To make it on my own.
After only one day,
I'm apt to turn astray.

But You're arm catches my hand
And suddenly I am safe again.
You lead me beside pastures that are green
The best I've ever seen.

There is only one place I want to be
And that is where You want me.
I'll stay here
And I won't fear.

I may kick and scream
And throw a fit.
I am trying not to quit
I just want You to be seen.

So fall down in my life
Destroy my selfish ways.
Lead me in a straight path
Teach me how to say, "I trust you."

My heart will not fear
You say You are near.
Let me dwell in Your house forever
I just want to be together.

I will wait.
I know You are not late.
I will wait.

A Supernatural Compass

It's so easy to seek a feeling
And ask for healing.
I choose to open up your book
And take a look.

I want to be pointed in the right direction.
Your Book is my compass.
I have heard you whisper in my ear
But I know you honor those words of old.
What I want to hold
Is your Word near my Heart.
Make me a woman of the Bible.

May it be a lamp unto my feet
And the foundation upon which I stand.
Your words are so sweet.
Hold me in the palm of your hand.

Teach me what is true
May I not be turned astray
By false doctrine and weak theology.
