I Lay It All Down

I want to be there
And not here.
Do you care?
Do you hear?

Sometimes I think I am going to sob
Because I want a job.
I want to drive
And not be stuck in this bee hive.

You are the queen bee
I am making honey for thee.
No matter what I do
I am doing it for you.

I am waiting
And not hating.
I am waiting for You
To show me the next thing to do.

No matter what that is
I know I am His.
I remember that I am not alone
And His power will be shown.

I lay my desire
Down in Your fire.
I am willing to let it burn
Because I want to learn.

I will be still
And follow Your will.
Once again I lay it all down
Including my frown.

I admit I don’t understand
But I refuse to let go of Your hand.
You give me strength to run
Beneath a burning sun.

You give me the words to say
When I have lost my way.
You put joy in me
That everyone can see.

You gave me a mind
And the will to be kind.
You have me eyes to see
What an awesome God You will always be.

Because You always know the way.

In each and every way
